how to get a great engagement picture
Being engaged is a ton of fun but a ton of work. I’m going to go over some tips that I found helpful when getting ready for pictures.

Clothing- Coordinate your outfits but don’t have them be matchy, matchy. Choose one color and then go with it! If it’s blue find a neutral that complements it. Most photographers will let you do three outfit changes. It’s nice to have different options and mix it up. For men checkout JCrew or H&M and for girls I love Ivy City, you can’t go wrong with a great dress, boutiques or Anthro. You want to feel amazing!
Makeup- I would suggest wearing a little bit more than you usually do. In images you can look washed out add a little more you won’t regret it. Another suggestion is bring a brush and lip color for touch ups!
Location- Is there some place that is special to your relationship? Go there and take a pic! I live in Southern Utah and feel like everywhere here is so beautiful. We went to Snow Canyon and I’m SO pleased with the different settings.
Photographer- Investing in an amazing photographer is my number one tip. For me I knew exactly who I wanted and that was Mikki Platt! She’s kind and makes you feel SO comfortable. Honestly, find a photographer who has good taste plus good style. You want someone who can direct you and who will make you feel like 1 million bucks.
