halloween inspo
Every year on the first Monday of October we go to the pumpkin patch and pick out our pumpkins! We then save them until the Monday before Halloween and PAINT them. Yes, painting can be messy, but carving is even messier! It’s something my kids bring up all year long. It’s so much fun. We just used regular acrylic paint and we have a BLAST. It’s freakin bats! (If you don’t get that reference click here.) A super easy and cheap way to decorate for Halloween is a set of Bats!!! Buying them pre-cut is easier but more pricey, or you can buy them as part of this kit, and cut them out yourself! Either way, you’ll love them! Original photo source: pinterest.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANYTHING CUTER? I think not! My kids will think I’m so cool wearing this. Instant costume.

I have a confession… I am linking the Halloween kit I made over at Colorly Love. Not to promote sales, but people were genuinely psyched about this “you’ve been boo’d” idea as well as the rest of the activities in the kit. Seriously check it out. If you’re a room mom or planning a Halloween party, this is also for you! (Full disclosure, Tori and I both own Colorly Love together!)

I found this image on Pinterest last year and literally almost fell over. It’s that good. I bought myself a skeleton and some body part candies from Amazon… And it was a huge hit!

I made this Frankie Gauc a few years ago and it was soooo easy! My recipe is five or six avocados mushed, salsa, cilantro, green onions, lawyr’s seasoning, salt and pepper, and a dab of sour cream! The hair is from purple corn chips, the eyes are sour cream and an olive, and the mouth is pretzel sticks!

I had a last-minute urge last year to dress up for a party, so I threw this “day of the dead/frida" costume together in five minutes.
